The Flying Column #24

By Connor Kelly

So “The Truth” has finally been revealed, on the front page of the Sun, and every other newspaper in the country – Adolf Hitler never died. According to a report in the eminently respectable and totally not fascist Daily Mail, “after escaping from the Fuhrer-Bunker on the eve of the Soviet capture of Berlin, he was cryogenically frozen and placed in storage in an unknown location in North London.” Later, sometime in the early 1980s, after being defrosted and undergoing “major facial reconstruction,” he was elected as MP for Islington and has been biding his time ever since.

More recently, Adolf Hitler was elected to the leadership of the British Labour Party and now presides of the largest anti-Semitic organisation in the world. I can only imagine that this is why certain labour party members like John Mann have been shouting “Hitler Supporter” at Corbyn/Hitler supporters like Ken Livingstone. Who wouldn’t be outraged at these revelations?! And to think that only last year the Labour Party was led by a man of Jewish heritage! He’d be turning in his grave!

(Is Ken Livingstone Josef Mengele? You decide!)

“The Labour Party has been taken over by a secret cabal of anti-Semites, who have been biding their time and lying in wait, infiltrating our institutions and infecting the body politic of their host organisations.” In a Daily Mail editorial entitled, “Hurrah for the Blackshirts!” it is alleged that a text known as the Protocols of the Elders of Anti-Zionism (believed to be penned by the Socialist Campaign Group), has been found in Labour HQ, and lays out their plans for anti-Semitic world-domination. It was also alleged in this article that John McDonnell has a large collection of Third Reich memorabilia including leaflets by one “Sophie Scholl” and that Diane Abbott once Google searched the word “Jewish.”

Following these latest revelations, an official Conservative Party statement has called for the entire Labour Leadership to resign and be put on trial for war-crimes. I asked Labour MP and aggressive thug John Mann, what he thought of Ken Livingstone’s historical description of Nazi racial policy towards the Jews and he said, “A Nazi apologist, rewriting history, rewriting history, rewriting history. Go back and check what Hitler did, go back and check. There’s a book called Mein Kampf, you’ve obviously never heard of it.” I asked Mr Mann if he had read this “Mein Kampf.” “Of course I have,” he replied. He has subsequently been suspended from the Labour Party pending charges of accessing anti-Semitic literature.

Ken Livingstone’s suspension from the Labour Party is apparently because he said this:

“Let’s remember when Hitler won his election in 1932, his policy then was that Jews should be moved to Israel. He was supporting Zionism – this before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews”

Now, although it may have been the case that Hitler initially wanted to deport the Jews – though “supporting Zionism” is hardly the correct turn of phrase – anybody listening would have cringed at the ill-timing and stupidity of such a statement. Nevertheless, what first occurred to me when I heard this was that I vaguely remember hearing something very similar only last year. I did a bit of digging:

“Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jews. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said: ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here [to Palestine].’” According to him, Hitler then asked: “What should I do with them?” and the mufti replied: “Burn them.”

These are the worlds of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

No doubt the Blairite wing of the Labour Party will thusly call for his resignation pending an investigation into anti-Semitism.

But of course, none of this is part of a concerted campaign to demonise Jeremy Corbyn by all and any means, orchestrated by the Blairite Right in harmony with their Tory kin, and it isn’t the latest in a string of downright smears on an honorable man, and it hasn’t been going on since Corbyn was elected last year. No, the Labour Party really has being taken over by anti-Semites in a mere matter of months, and they should – all of them – resign.

The mass outpouring of jubilation over the Hillsborough verdict in Liverpool this week was incredibly moving, with tens of thousands of people taking to the streets. A city that has been demonized by the Press and the state for decades has finally achieved something resembling the beginnings of Justice. Today it is reported that the families are “to launch a multimillion-pound high court claim against two police forces for “abuse on an industrial scale.”” We should all stand in solidarity with them in this, and not fall into the trap of thinking that it is all “done and dusted” now. After all, the state has tried this very trick in the recent past – finding all of the Bloody Sunday victims innocent, and then seeing the matter as closed. Justice is not just the open declaration of what everyone already knew to be the truth – those responsible must be held to account. The campaign for justice for the 96 will go on.

In other news, the Right to Water campaign has scored a major victory against the corrupt Irish state in that they have suspended water charges for the time being. Though short of election promises to “abolish” water charges, it should still be viewed as a victory – one that shows that people power does work – and that if we stick together, we can win. Change is coming to Ireland – and we are all part of it.
